The department of education for the B.ed course comprises the faculty and associated work to be carried out under the core papers in the B.Ed curriculum. The core papers of the two year B.Ed course includes educational philosophy, educational psychology, educational technology, educational research, evaluation, health education, environmental studies and yoga. Thanks are due to the initiative, drive and vision of the former Principals, Prof. K. Samuel, Prof. Verghis Chandy, Dr. Grace Annie Mathews, Dr. Annie Paul, Dr. Ashok Alex Philip, and Dr. Jibby George who contributed a lot for the development of the department.

Lab facilities
The department has as per requirement, two labs viz, psychology lab and computer lab to aid the transaction of core papers coming under the B.Ed curriculum.

Psychology Lab
A well-furnished psychology lab is functioning in the college to help the student teachers familiarize themselves with various psychological tools and techniques. A number of paper pencil tests related to various psychological attributes and a number of equipment are available. B.Ed and M.Ed students make use of the lab for doing psychology related practical work and also for project related data collection.

Computer Lab
A full fledged computer lab with a seating capacity of 40 is functioning in the college.All systems are loaded with high end softwares .Projector and Wi-Fi facilities are available in the computer lab.Students can avail the lab facilities whenever required. The lab is also used for conducting on-line exams during the fourth semester of the B.Ed course.

Focus

A paper presentation contest in psychology ‘focus’ teacher trainees was being conducted by the department since 2010. The intention behind this programme is to develop presentation as well as
