The College conducted a Two Day Webinar on Research Methodology,’ A Journey through the Research Processes for Teacher Aspirants’. It was conducted on 24.09.2020 and 25.09.2020 by the Research Cell and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Peet Memorial Training College Mavelikara. The resource persons invited were Dr Sameer Babu Assistant Professor Department of Education University of Kerala and Dr. Sindhya V. Assistant Professor Department. of Education University of Kerala. The Research Webinar also saw participation from students and teachers of other training colleges of Jameela Beevi Memorial Centre for Teacher Education Kaayamkulam, Kerala University college of Teacher Education, Kaayamkulam, Bhudha College of Teacher Education Muthukulam and Kerala University college of Teacher Education, kunnam, Mavelikara.
Day 1 - 24.09.2020
The Two Day Webinar on Research Methodology began at 10:00 am. Dr. Mariamma Mathew, Principal of the College inaugurated the event. Dr. Elizabeth Joshua, the Convenor of the event delivered the Welcome Speech. Prof. Bobby Oomen Kurien, the College Staff Advisor offered the Felicitation. Miss Jessmin Sara Aby introduced the eminent resource persons to all and Miss Minu Melwen offered the Vote of Thanks. The first session by Dr. Sameer Babu started immediately.
The first session of the Research Webinar began with the talk of an eminent resource person Dr.Sameer Babu, Assistant Professor,Department of Education, University of Kerala.He dealt with the topic ‘Contemplative practices in Social Science Research’.He started with an introduction to research covering significance,methodology,steps and objectives of research and illustrated these through real life examples. He stressed upon different methods,design, sampling ,statistical tools and APA format which are most suited for the minor project mentioned in the B.Ed curriculum. He concluded his session by introducing to us the topics which are apt for undertaking minor research project in this pandemic situation

Day 2 -25.09.2020
The second day of the Two Day Webinar on Research Methodology began at 10:00 am. The College Principal Dr. Mariamma Mathew welcomed the resource person of the day.
The resource person for the second day was Dr Sindhya V, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, University of Kerala.Her main focus was on action research and case study.She started with glimpse of research and its characteristics and progressed to action research, case study and report writing.She covered topics like types of action research, areas of action research, principles ,steps and data collection techniques. She pointed out numerous examples from our daily life and current issues which can be selected for action research and case study. Detailed discussions on design, principles of data collection and data analysis for case study were also done.She also mentioned about steps and style of report writing, methodology ,areas of further research and APA style for writing reference.
The Webinar conducted was extremely successful as it had almost 240 participants during both the days. After the resource persons had conducted their sessions, many queries by students and teachers were asked to which the appropriate answers were given. After the session, Dr. Alie Molly Verghis offered the Vote of Thanks. All of the students of the college did their best to help in the planning, coordination and completion of the Webinar. It was a satisfying and illuminating experience for all the teacher trainees.
The latest ventures of the College were two Webinars which were conducted on October 20th and 23rd 2021and focused on Gender Discrimination. In the first day, Dr. T. C. Thankachan, Assistant Professor in Education at St Thomas College of Teacher Education Pala talked about the various issues prevalent related to Gender from different perspectives .
A webinar titled ‘Finding your own Self” was conducted on October 23rd , 2020 in Peet Memorial Training College Mavelikara. Dr. Mariamma Mathew beloved Principal of the college presided over the session in which the key note address was given by noted Civil Service Trainer Adv. Jyothi Radhika Vijaykumar. It instilled self esteem and a motivating spirit among the audience and it helped to empower the full potential of self.
