Azadi Ka Amrit Maholsav | Freedom Wall Painting at PMTC

August 14, 2022

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Maholsav celebrations, a Freedom Wall was painted by the students at Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara. It also marked the start of many colourful programmes that are being planned as part of the Independence Day Celebrations!

The Freedom Wall that has been painted on a canvas that spans 150 square feet represents the stellar role that Alapuzha District played in the Freedom Struggle. The cultural symbols of the district – the lighthouse, the backwaters, the coconut palms and the traditional boats – all have been brought in to the painting that splendidly blends them together against the backdrop of the national flag. The Freedom Wall painting was conceived by and executed under the leadership of the Arts Faculty Mr. Robin.
