State Level Workshop on College Library Management : Nurturing Professionalism
Academic Libraries are inevitable in the process of higher education. The context of academic library management and services are changing radically due to the advent of Information and Communication Technologies and Open/virtual learning environment. In Kerala, college librarians are facing Library Administrative issues and service related issues that obstacle the professional development. KCLA (Kerala College Librarians’ Association) with this notion, meant to equip college librarians to handle and serve their users more efficiently and effectively. In this backdrop, KCLA join with Peet Memorial Training College decided to conduct a one day workshop on College Library Management in continuation with our earlier workshop at St.Thomas College Thrissur with a special focus on nurturing professionalism. The workshop is exclusively meant for College Librarians in Kerala.
Workshop sessions will be handled by eminent professionals in the field of LIS . We hope to conduct the sessions more interactive. Mr. S.L. Faisal (International Association of School Librarianship Award winner 2016)
Librarian, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom (Google Scholar profile )will handle the session ‘Professionalism in Library Management’. Mr. P.T. Markose , Librarian,Maharajas College, Eranakulam will be handling the second session on ‘Administrative & Service matters’.
